The changing health care environment and workforce requirements have increased the need for clinical educators to take a leadership role through education in influencing health care practice. In this subject students will explore transformational leadership and review models of practice to plan for change in the clinical setting. An increased understanding of the role of reflection in practice as well as that of mentor and facilitator of learning will equip the student to create a rich clinical learning environment. The need for continuing professional development by health professionals to maintain and develop their knowledge and skills in their discipline area will be addressed.
