This subject deals with dimensions of international organisational behaviour in cross-cultural business environments. The subject addresses a variety of management practices from a behavioural perspective and is concerned with the evaluation and critique of existing cross-cultural organisational, management and leadership practices, with a view to the development of more informed and effective practices.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to critically discuss the business and organisational context of organisational behaviour in a cross-cultural context;
  • be able to effectively apply cross-cultural performance and managerial frameworks of organisational behaviour to interpret and explain international management activity;
  • be able to describe and examine international and cross-cultural practices in the areas of organisational design, communications, cultural diversity and synergy, leadership, motivation and negotiation;
  • be able to critically analyse leadership practices in cross-cultural work settings; and
  • be able to identify and analyse current and emerging trends in international and cross-cultural organisational behaviour.
