This subject focuses on the management of appropriate information resources for organisations and communities, with particular emphasis on physical and digital materials required to achieve the goals of libraries, archives and related organisations. Attention is given to the assessment of needs, selection, acquisition, evaluation, ethics and deselection of resources, and issues such as policy formulation, budgeting, cooperative resource provision, outsourcing, preservation, electronic publishing and space planning.
