ISL596 Islamic Studies Project (16)

In consultation with their appointed supervisor students will identify and investigate specific issues impacting Muslims in Australia, and implement initiatives that aim to address the identified issue(s). The students capacity to identify challenges, assemble materials, obtain ethics approval where required, argue a case for a solution, and develop and implement a project plan will be assessed. In addition, the students application of critical thinking and interpretive judgement in developing effective measurable solutions will also be assessed.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • be able to present a clear and coherent exposition of knowledge and ideas in their chosen area

  • be able to demonstrate advanced competence in methods of Islamic Studies research
  • be able to demonstrate effective project management skills
  • be able to demonstrate independent research, organisation, written and oral communication skills through the presentation of a substantial work
