This subject extends student knowledge into the interactions between police, the public and community. Topics including police work, discretion and accountability, occupational culture, deviance and corruption, models of policing, contemporary developments and miscarriages of justice will be explored. The subject will examine contemporary issues and perspectives on the role of police in community and society.
