This subject provides students with detailed guidance on implementing financial crime risk practices across an organisation. The focus is on preventing financial crime by understanding the risk exposure of the organisation and implementing international and national best practice standards, processes and technology to address financial crime risks. Implementation of this learning will lead to compliance with relevant laws and regulation.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to categorize the risk factors that contribute to the incidence of financial crime;
  • be able to assess the appropriateness of using a range of financial crime prevention strategies to combat a range of financial crimes; and
  • be able to prepare a financial crime control plan that complies with relevant national and international ISO guidelines.
