Managing Yourself and Others is designed to develop your capabilities in self-management and in working with other people. The subject offers a unique focus on personal development in managerial and interpersonal skills. Areas covered include self-awareness, self management and self development. Focusing on emotional intelligence, the subject introduces interpersonal skills that are critical to effective communication including good listening, assertiveness, negotiation and conflict resolution. The subject also incorporates group effectiveness and group facilitation. These areas are designed to develop the skills essential for best-practice managers, helping them work with people and make decisions that have implications for others.
