Leadership in Teams will explore how leaders manage teams and how teams shape the requirements for effective leadership. Students will examine the theory and practice of leading productive teams and facilitating groups. The subject will identify the distinction between team leadership and team facilitation skills. Students will investigate their own ability to lead and facilitate teams utilizing team members knowledge and skills. This subject will identify the challenges involved in leading a team and guide students in their development of the skills needed to negotiate and facilitate the complexities of leading teams. Specific learnable skills such as relationship building, problem-solving, decision making, effective listening, and conflict resolution will be a focus to develop a personal understanding of thinking, coaching and leading styles.
