Candidates enrolled in the Master of Commerce (Specialisation) Honours course are required to prepare a thesis proposal, conduct approved research under supervision, and present the results of their research for examination in an academically conventional form approved by the Faculty and the University's Board of Graduate Studies

Enrolment Restrictions

Restricted to those who are enrolled in the Master of Commerce (Specialisation) Honours course and who have achieved a credit average in their coursework.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • critically investigate a theoretical or applied problem in the business field;
  • write up the results of the investigation as a thesis.

Syllabus

This subject will cover the following topics:

Each student shall: pursue a program of research relevant to the chosen specialisation studies resulting in a thesis that is a distinct contribution to knowledge; prepare a thesis proposal, outlining the proposed research and the methodology proposed, together with a preliminary review of literature and a time schedule for completion; conduct research based on the approved thesis proposal, working with supervisor/s approved by the University; present research findings in an approved thesis form for examination by examiners approved by the University.
