Students are required to have access to the industry standard graphic design software package - the Adobe Creative Suite.
This subject introduces students to the fundamental principles of digital and online interactivity. The use of interactivity is addressed through principles of gamification, actor-network theory, user-interface design (UI), user-experience design (UX) and human centred design (HCD). Students gain a working knowledge of screen based interactivity including fundamental concepts of web-standards, media formats for online presentation, web applications and the development of basic database driven websites and/or standalone information-kiosks using pre-built content management systems. Students explore a range of creative briefs and conceptual problems with accompanying case studies to explore the changing relationship between online and digital media forms to the telling of stories.
