This subject is designed to develop an understanding and an appreciation of the importance of Mathematics in Society. This will be developed by following the evolution of some mathematical concepts throughout history, how these concepts have aided in communication and interpretation of the world around us. These concepts will also be studied formally to develop the students mathematical skills further. Topics to be included are, but not limited to, measurement systems, algebra, geometry, and statistics.
