Specific therapeutic approaches to care will be the focus of this subject, allowing students to understand the theoretical underpinnings, required skills and clinical application for each intervention.  The particular interventions addressed in the scope of this subject are Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Mindfulness. The use of complementary and alternative therapies, including music, drama, art and aroma therapy will also be considered.
