This subject contains a 20 days Compulsory Workplace Learning component.
Students are required to undertake Professional Placements in a Community Pharmacy environment. The student must complete placements in 2 different community pharmacies. Each placement must be of a minimum of 70 hours completed over 10 working days.
The aim of these placement are to provide an insight into the different operations that exist from a professional and business practice context and in assisting students to cement the clinical and business knowledge and judgement skills that they have learnt with the aim of promoting the quality use of medication within all practice settings and ultimately improving patient health outcomes and business outcomes (broad learning objectives of this subject).
Workplace learning is a key part of the curriculum delivery expectations and is to be reported annually, as part of accreditation compliance process to the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC).
