The focus of this subject is pharmacotherapeutics, which is the study of the therapeutic use of medicines and their effects, both beneficial and deleterious. To successfully complete this course you will need to have a firm foundational knowledge in pharmacology and pathophysiology.
The topics in this subject have also been aligned with the other 4th year Pharmacy subjects so that similar topics are delivered concurrently to help facilitate the integration of your pharmacy knowledge from other subjects. The topics and tasks included in this subject have been designed so that by the time you have finished you should be able to analyse a patients medication regimen and design a new regimen which enhances their health outcomes. Students entering this subject are assumed to have completed the first 3 years of the Bachelor of Pharmacy.
