Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • explain and assess the basic principles, design and practical working conditions of a range of instruments and modes covered in this subject;
  • appraise the relative performance of an instrument via practical capabilities, specifications and relevant descriptions used for each instrument;
  • understand and utilise relevant regulations, guidelines and appropriate safe working practices for each instrument through a knowledge of relevant requirements;
  • understand the basic quality assurance program for each type of instrument covered in this subject;
  • appraise relevant technical reports and journal papers in regard to each type of instrument.
