This subject provides introductory fieldwork experience in working with individuals experiencing problems in communication. Fieldwork will take place in education, aged care, disability, residential care, health or community settings.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • have a developing understanding of the health care system;
  • have knowledge of the range of settings in which clients with communication or swallowing disorders may present;
  • have begun to develop their skills of reflection, evaluation, observation and clinical reasoning;
  • have begun to integrate theory and practice in relation to communication;
