This subject welcomes students to the Charles Sturt University and Goulburn Police College and promotes a positive transition to these learning environments. The fundamental aim of the subject is to prepare prospective policing students for the academic requirements of the Diploma of Policing Practice as well as the implications and significance of beginning university studies. The focus is on students’ acquiring foundational knowledge and applied skills necessary for academic success, including time management, academic reading and writing, independent learning and test-taking skills.
