This subject contains a 2 day Optional Residential School.
Extends and deepens students knowledge of experimental design, analysis of variance and regression. Multiple regression and the connection between analysis of variance and regression is covered. Multiple comparisons, contrasts, orthogonal contrasts, multiple degree of freedom components, model diagnostic checking and variance stabilizing transformations are included. The analysis of variance methods cover: one-way ANOVA, two-way ANOVA, randomised complete blocks, factorial designs, Latin squares, Graeco-Latin squares, Balanced incomplete blocks, Youden squares, and Nesterd ANOVA. An alternative method for comparing different ANOVA designs, using multiple regression, and computer applications using MINITAB, are also included.
