WSC502 Advanced Viticulture/Oenology Dissertation (32)

This subject builds on from the research question proposed in WSC501 Research Proposal. This subject is an original independent research study in oenology or viticulture involving review and evaluation of existing data and/or the collection, analysis and interpretation of data. Data may be collected during field studies and/or laboratory experimentation. Students will be required to prepare a dissertation, refereed publication and a seminar as a result of data analysis.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • Successfully execute a research plan that has been developed to test a research question (hypothesis) in a specialised area of viticulture and/or oenology
  • Have demonstrated the technical skills required to collect, interpret and critically analyse scientific, technological and industrial research data collected during their research project
  • Communicate complex scientific, technological or industrial research concepts based on their own research and research published by other researchers in related fields of research
  • Have developed the skills required to independently initiate, undertake and report research findings that are at the forefront of their field of research
