Admission Criteria

Bachelor of General Studies (Science)

A completed High School Certificate (or equivalent), with an ATAR of at least 65, inclusive of any eligible adjustment factors.
OR
Successful completion of two university level subjects (AQF level Associate Degree or higher) demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
OR
A completed AQF Certificate III or higher level qualification.
OR
50% completion of an AQF Diploma level qualification.
OR
A completed Tertiary Preparation Course from an Australian University or an accredited provider demonstrating a reasonable prospect of success through the Grade Point Average (GPA) gained in these studies.
AND

Course Structure

Bachelor of General Studies (Science)

This course of 192 points duration consists of:

  • Restricted elective subjects (160 points; 20 standard weighted subjects) to be chosen from undergraduate subjects offered by the Faculty of Science and the School of Computing and Mathematics, Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences
  • Elective subjects (32 points; 4 standard weighted subjects) to be chosen from any undergraduate subjects offered by Charles Sturt University

Subjects are chosen on the understanding that all subject prerequisite requirements and enrolment restrictions have been met.

Students must complete a minimum of 48 points (6 standard weighted subjects or equivalent) at Level 3, and a minimum of 112 points (14 standard weighted subjects or equivalent) at Level 2 or above.

There are no key subjects in this course.

Associate Degree in General Studies (Science) - exit point only

This exit point only course of 128 points duration consists of:

  • Restricted elective subjects (112 points; 14 standard weighted subjects) to be chosen from undergraduate subjects offered by the Faculty of Science and the School of Computing and Mathematics, Faculty of Business, Justice and Behavioural Sciences
  • Elective subjects (16 points; 2 standard weighted subjects) to be chosen from any undergraduate subjects offered by Charles Sturt University
