ART517 Topic Research and Development (16)

In this subject students examine and develop the initial Exhibition/Performance/Project proposal they submitted for acceptance into the MCP. In order to put students' work into perspective attention is first paid to investigating methodology and research techniques appropriate to the proposal. Under the guidance of their supervisor students then focus on practical work in order to develop their Exhibition/Performance/Project to final proposal stage.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • investigate research techniques appropriate to their arts practice;
  • critically reflect on their own work and discuss it with other people;
  • develop an initial proposal for a substantial body of work in an approved field of arts practice through to final proposal stage;
  • submit a final proposal for their Exhibition/Performance/Project.

  • arts practice research techniques;
  • critical reflection on one's own arts practice;
  • seminar presentations;
  • topic development;
  • drafting, polishing and submitting final Exhibition/Performance/Project topic proposals.
