This subject introduces students to a range of roles and responsibilities in set and environmental design including the requisite time and financial planning skills, computer aided design (CAD) skills and drawing for a range of spatial design outcomes. Students explore the relationship between script and character analysis to the organisational principles of space and place for performance design. Using designer-led approaches to the analysis, visualisation and construction of environments students undertake small projects in set/prop design for stage, screen or public/commercial applications in theatre or site-specific contexts.
