In this subject students investigate leadership theories for promoting healthy and safe early childhood settings. Principles of effective leadership are interrogated and the application of these to various early childhood settings is explored. Students will investigate how mandated policies and practices in early childhood settings ensure young children are healthy, safe and protected. Through a strengths-based approach, this subject will develop students knowledge of health and safety issues affecting young children and provide opportunities to apply understandings effective leadership to provide healthy and safe environments in early childhood settings.
