This subject provides students with opportunities to examine current issues in care and education of young children. International, national and local aspects of early childhood policy, practice and professionalism will be considered. Students will explore one issue in depth from research and/or their own practical experience. Issues such as social justice and equity, quality and related public policy are examined in an integrated approach. The role of educators as agents for change will be explored. This subject involves a high level of independent study which involves students negotiating a specific topic to be addressed with the lecturer.
