In this subject students develop and deepen their understanding of secondary visual arts education, 7-12. The curricula involves a practice-based approach that models, decomposes and approximates teaching and learning. Students develop their understandings of visual arts curriculum, continuums of learning, approaches to pedagogy and assessment in visual arts. They explore the perspectives of learners in visual arts, engage in collaborative examinations and approximations of teaching and develop connections to community. Learning culminates in involvement in a documented student event and development of a portfolio of professional teaching resources. Forms of assessment include: digital presentations; on-line engagement; curriculum documents; and simulated assessment and reporting. Assessments focus on the application of knowledge and skills to a series of integrated and authentic practice- based contexts and tasks.
