This subject provides an introduction to the theoretical and practical aspects for understanding the environmental management of mine sites and the management of contaminated land. The subject focuses on industry perspectives of biodiversity and water management, environmental systems, monitoring and audit and rehabilitation of mine sites. Contaminated land management is introduced focusing on typical contaminants and their behaviour, the regulatory environment and case studies. The subject has no residential school.
