This subject introduces students to the profession of Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Outdoor Education (OE) teaching providing opportunities to explore the relationship between practical and disciplinary knowledge. The subject focuses on the development of a broad and critical understanding of the HPE and OE key learning areas, the exploration of the diverse backgrounds and experiences that young people bring to HPE and OE learning contexts, and the development of academically informed teaching philosophies in the area of HPE and OE. Students will undertake 18 days in a secondary school to authentically engage with issues of teaching and learning
