This subject is designed to enable students to conduct and write up an individual research project. Students will apply knowledge and skills learned in prerequisite subjects to research an area of education. The subject allows students the opportunity to actively undertake the processes involved in carrying out a research project including the collection and analysis of data. Finally, this subject allows students to demonstrate their skills in the presentation of a concise, accurate and relevant research dissertation.

Entry into the Bachelor of Education (Primary)(Honours), Bachelor of Educational Research (Honours) or as determined by the Course Coordinator.
This subject is a research subject and as such students are guided in their study by the appointed supervisor. Students will have formulated their research proposal in the prerequisite subject 'Dissertation Proposal and Literature Review'. Throughout this subject students are expected to demonstrate their research development through regular submission of material to their supervisor. In addition students are required to maintain regular contact with their supervisor and vice versa.
This subject follows closely on the work completed in EEB415. At this point students should have a title for the research project, a description of the problem statement indicating the connection between the identified topic, the problem statement, existing theory and research conducted in this area and unresolved questions to be addressed by the project investigation.
A preliminary literature review demonstrating connection between the identified topic and existing theory and research will have been completed. The proposed research methodology and procedure for data analysis should also be completed.
