This subject provides an introduction to one of the fastest developing areas in Human Resource Management. It covers a variety of issues and challenges in the development of a strategic approach to human resource management practice. This will include the role of the human resource management professional in the strategy development and implementation process. A range of concepts, theories and models which aim to integrate the various functional areas of human resource management with business strategy will be examined. Both the theoretical and practical application of issues associated with HR practices such as staffing, performance management and staff development will be discussed.
