This subject provides in-depth study of specific topics in the area of Water Systems Science. This will involve literature search, application of special tools and computer models, and report writing.

Depending on the student's area of interest, they will be assigned any two of the following topics after consultation with the subject coordinator: Application of computer models in rainfall-runoff simulation; Application of computer models like CSIRO's Swagman to investigate impacts of irrigation practices on land and groundwater; Management of soil and groundwater salinity; Water demand management within a given river catchment; Water use efficiency, water productivity and climate; Application of geophysical investigation techniques; Relationship between climate variability and river flows; Application of GIS and RS in water resources management. Further topics may be added by the subject coordinator to meet the emerging needs.
