Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • be able to design service contracts and data contracts;
  • be able to maintain state information and support transactions;
  • be able to programmatically configure bindings and endpoints;
  • be able to use load-balancing and perform content-based message routing;
  • be able to implement message encryption, authentication, authorization;
  • be able to optimize performance with service throttling, encoding, and streaming;
  • be able to implement asynchronous operations, oneway methods, and events;
  • be able to create services that interoperate with ASP.NET and COM+
