This subject, which involves work experience, is a core subject in the diversional therapy strand of the Leisure and Health courses. Students will become aware of a range of professional issues that are relevant to the role of diversional therapy as it is practised in a range of contexts. This subject will develop students' understanding of leisure and health issues related to frail and vulnerable individuals and groups in both institutional and community settings. They will also be introduced to a range of professional issues impacting upon the practitioner in residential aged care and other diversional therapy settings in Australia.
