1) International and regional economics including trade and development theory.

2) Project management concepts applied to regional and international enterprise.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

Explain the scope of and trends in international business;
Analyse the implications of globalisation of world trade;
Assess the trading environment of international business;
Appreciate the differences between managing an international business and a purely domestic business;
Determine strategic planning skills as it applies to international business.

b) Trade barriers, GATT, WTO
c) International monetary systems
d) Exchange rates and balance of payments
e) Project management concepts
f) Managing project dimensions
g) The people dimension in project management
