This subject will examine a broad range of contemporary issues and trends that impact on nurses and nursing within the Australian health care context, such as risk management, patient safety, clinical governance, scope of practice, with an emphasis on the importance of professional communication, leadership and management. The focus of this subject is to prepare the graduating nurse with the necessary skills to transition from a nursing student into a registered nurse who is industry ready. This includes preparing the student for professional registration and professional interviews. It will ensure the student is equipped with the appropriate tools such as an e-portfolio, and interview skills to successfully transition.
