The students undertake a community/ public health nutrition project in a community public health based setting supervised by a dietitian.
This subject examines the theory and practice of community nutrition and public health nutrition relevant to the delivery of effective nutrition programs to community groups and wider populations. Building upon the principles of effective nutrition education, students will be required to plan and to implement some aspect of a community nutrition program. Successful completion of this subject will involve a six week placement within a community setting supervised by an Accredited Practicing Dietitian to ensure meeting entry level competency for community nutrition practice.
