VPA111 Live Studio Collaboration (8)

In this introductory subject students will work collaboratively applying the principles of television techniques, acting and design to produce creative works in a multi-camera studio and outside broadcast environment. The teaching concept of communities of practice will be used to communicate the theoretical and practical approach of this subject with emphasis on working as part of a production team. The creative works will embrace concepts from their major areas of study.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • be able to exercise critical judgment and problem solving as it applies to their selected field of study
  • be able to demonstrate their ability to respond creatively to stimuli in group exercises
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of the use of effective communication as part of the creative production process
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of the synthesis of a creative production company
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of OHS practices and safety procedures
  • be able to demonstrate an understanding of and initiate an effective time management program
  • be able to experience and understand the fundamentals, protocols and OHS whilst working in an outside broadcast environment
