Course duration is the effective time taken to complete a course when studied full-time (full-time equivalent duration). Students are advised to consult the Enrolment Pattern to determine length of study. Not all courses are offered in full-time mode.
Full-time: 1 years (or part-time equivalent)
For entry to this course students must hold a bachelors degree in nursing (or equivalent) and be registered to practice. Some experience in the emergency health field is recommended. Intending students should also be aware that in order to undertake the practicum subjects they will be required to comply with the risk management policies and procedures of the host ambulance authority.
Students must be able to attend a 5 day residential school associated with the subject CLS412 Introduction to Internship.
To graduate students must satisfactorily complete 64 points.

* Internships must be completed in an approved out-of-hospital setting such as a statutory ambulance authority. Students undertaking the internships must satisfy the risk assessment requirements of the relevant ambulance authority.

The Graduate Diploma of Clinical Practice (Paramedic) has received full accreditation with the Australasian Council of Ambulance Authorities Inc. (CAA). This accreditation is equivalent to the CAA accreditation of an undergraduate course and qualifies graduates for entry level practice as a paramedic. Students are also encouraged to check the qualification requirements for paramedicine practice in each state as the requirements stated by the various state ambulance services may vary.
