This subject consolidates the students' learning over their (secondary specialisation) course of study and provides a foundation for life-long learning. It is organized around thematic project labs which develop professional-standard practice. Students will reflect critically on personal and professional roles and challenges, including the value of cultural diversity in communication and creative industries.

Assumed Knowledge

This subject assumes that students are highly proficient and independent communication and creative industries practitioners with a minimum of two years practice/study.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to complete a complex project to professional standards for external/professional-clients/commissioners/audiences;
  • be able to work independently and as effective collaborative practitioners;
  • be able to critically appraise and justify their disciplinarity, interdisciplinarity and transdisciplinarity;
  • be able apply their individual communication and creative practice in any of a number of research-led thematic domains;
  • be able to critically reflect on professional issues in communication and creative industries including cultural diversity towards evidenced capacity as a change-maker; and
  • be able to critique both their own work and that of their peers.

  • Researching and managing complex transdisicplinary projects from planning to evaluation
  • Professional behaviours, project management and critical reflection on roles in groups
  • Producing a body of work to specific briefs and external demands
  • Principles of reflective practice and life-long learning
  • Cultural diversity in global communication and creative industries
