The communication and creative industries consist of diverse and dynamic fields spanning a range of contexts, disciplines and literature. This subject introduces students to the wider communication and creative industries in Australia with a view to their global context. It invites students to reflect upon important trends historical and contemporary, including social, technological, ethical, legal, cultural and practice issues. Students are provided with an introduction to applied practice and research methodologies, allowing further study up to and including their own research, industry, or creative project.

It is assumed students attempting this subject have completed an undergraduate degree or have equivalent professional experience.
