This subject examines Years K-6 curriculum documents for science and technology and requires students to work collaboratively in designing and developing a Science & Technology program of learning for pupils in Years K-6. Contemporary theories of learning in science and technology, including constructivist and conceptual change perspectives, will be explored. Students will apply their knowledge of learning theory, lesson and unit design and assessment of, and for, learning to develop the sequence of learning activities that use pedagogies afforded by scientific and educational technologies. Students learn how to integrate scientific and technological concepts, skills in conducting scientific investigations and designing and producing solutions, literacy, numeracy, the 5Es Learning Cycle and Learning across the Curriculum Content into a Science & Technology K-6 program of learning.
