ENG180 Performance Planning & Review - Student Engineer (4)

In this subject, students engage in reflective management of their learning and teamwork performance. They plan their workload, set goals and then use evidence-based reflection processes to determine if they have met these goals, adjusting their actions where necessary. The expectation for this subject is that the student should be performing at the level of a student engineer.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • Reflect on their emerging professional identity and explain the principles of engineering practice;
  • Reflect on their experiences of teamwork situations and the challenges associated with this type of environment;
  • Set individual goals and produce a plan to manage the transition from university to their initial work placement;
  • Adapt and revise career plans to meet changing work conditions;
  • Identify the structures they will use to manage their learning and professional performance in the future; and
  • Demonstrate the ability to critically reflect on their current practice in order to develop future career plans.

  • Career planning and monitoring; and
  • Initial workplace placement and preparation.
