GPM515 Right Wing Extremism and Terrorism (8)

This subject will enhance the students' knowledge of right wing extremism and terrorism, its nature and origins, and strategic evolution in a variety of security contexts. Students will develop a sophisticated understanding of the ideas which underpin right wing extremism through investigating theory, ideology, concepts, and frameworks which shape contemporary understandings of the right wing threat nexus. This is then applied to security contexts such as the United States of America, the United Kingdom, European Union, and Australia. Students will critically engage with the right wing threat nexus through research-based assessments, which exploit theory and data, in order to assess counter efforts and make recommendations with regard to counter measures.
