This subject will explore the issue of judgement and decision making within the context of professional practice. The subject will discuss different approaches to judgement and decision making from an analytical perspective. Students will be exposed to tools that they can use in their professional practice to make and evaluate their judgement and decision making.

  • Hamms cognitive continuum, and intuitive vs analytical decision making
  • Expert policy capturing
  • Decision algorithms
  • Judging judgement, including gold standard and test results
  • ROC analysis, production and evaluation
  • Bayes theory
  • Computer-aided decision making
  • Decision analysis
