INF441 Knowledge Management in Practice (8)

This subject provides an overview of Knowledge Management (KM) in an organisational context, and focuses on the strategies and processes used by organisations to identify, access, manage, and share their information assets to meet their KM needs. Motivators and drivers required to align a new KM project with organisational strategies are included. It will examine how organisations can adapt KM practices, progress to share this knowledge, and mature to develop new strategic directions. The impact of organisational culture and change management philosophies on KM implementation will demonstrate how the capture and use of organisational knowledge is influenced internally by workers such as knowledge brokers, champions, and subject experts, and externally by suppliers, customers, and so on. Technologies as drivers, processes and techniques used to capture and utilise organisational knowledge are also covered.
