ITE514 Professional Systems Security (8)

In this subject students will analyse and apply content from the eight domains that comprise a Common Body of Knowledge (CBK) for information systems security professionals. This subject will also help students prepare for the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) industry certification exam from the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISCē).

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to formulate a security management policy;
  • be able to compare and select appropriate secure system architectures;
  • be able to justify key elements of operations security;
  • be able to compose a business continuity plan;
  • be able to explain and justify how to apply physical security; and
  • be able to describe common application security threats and justify appropriate security countermeasures.
