The subject examines both theoretical and practical aspects of project management, and critiques these from a community development perspective. The subject illuminates some of the problems associated with prescriptive project management practices in designing community based leisure and health programs. It draws on community development knowledge to highlight how project management skills can be complemented by community development principles so as to foster engagement and sustainability in the development of leisure and health programs.
