Students will learn about different types of professional decision-making used by occupational therapists for assessment, intervention and evaluation. In this subject, students will build and extend their knowledge of models, theories and frames of reference that inform occupational therapy practice with clients from diverse backgrounds. Students will develop an understanding of evidence-based practice in occupational therapy and integrate relevant information to inform best practice decisions. This subject builds on knowledge developed in first year subjects and offers opportunities for students to link their research knowledge to principles of evidence based practice in occupational therapy.
