SSS083 Critical Thinking - A Philosophical Approach (2)

Being able to think and read critically are key life skills. This subject adopts a higher level philosophical approach to critical thinking. It will teach students, via extensive practice, how to think critically about claims and reasons as well as how to adopt a critical approach to reading, both of which are particularly relevant for responding effectively to issues presented in a tertiary context.

  • How to critically evaluate information, sources and claims
  • When to be critical of information, sources and claims
  • Participating in debates and developing arguments using evidence and critical thought
  • Identifying credible and relevant sources
