This subject familiarises students with the fundamental theoretical and practical demands of multicamera television production in a live studio environment. Students undertake collaborative work through the analysis and generation of news programming, bulletin, public service announcements and entertainment programming.

Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:
  • be able to apply the fundamental theoretical and practical skills required to produce studio television programming;
  • be able to describe the roles and responsibilities of a range of crew positions in studio television environments;
  • be able to describe and apply the fundamental workplace health and safety requirements of a television studio environment;
  • be able to identify and construct basic studio television productions in a range of formats for broadcast; and
  • be able to work independently and collaboratively on creative studio television briefs.
