This subject introduces students to advanced sound design, creation, sound mixing and delivery standards for broadcast and screen. The subject explores original sound design, dialogue mixing, together with final sound mixing and deliveries for various broadcast standards including film, television, DVD, radio and music.

Upon successful completion of this subject, students should:

  • be able to create original sounds using original sound recording and synthesis

  • using EQ and compression
  • sound effects design and mixing
  • atmosphere editing for surround sound
  • surround sound mixing
  • broadcast audio mastering
  • ADR integration into location dialogue
